Geometric Portraits

Distinctly visually different from the drawing work are the impressive, sumptuous Fibonacci portraits. Geometric, abstract and playing with a minimalist aesthetic, they certainly have impact. Since 1996 Rob Pepper has been working with naturally occurring number sequences, and in particular, the work of 12th century mathematician Fibonacci. Whether it be the twist of a branch, the number of petals on a flower or the proportions of the body these numbers can be found all across nature and are commonly known as the Golden Mean or Divine Proportion. Pepper applies these calculations to create bespoke geometric portraits.
